Clamping cassettes feature hydraulically movable clamping strips that can be used to clamp machine components in their respective positions.
The cassettes shown here each have two clamping strips that can be used to hold (clamp) a linearly movable machine table in the required position.
In milling centers, KOSTYRKA® clamping rings with diameters of up to 300 mm ensure quick clamping and release of swivel tables.
The clamping ring is typically mounted around the moving axis and then clamps it axially, for example, via a washer. Therefore, a counterforce or counterholder is always required.
The clamping sleeve clamps radially and is used, for example, on swivel tables in machine tools. The clamping ring holds the swivel table securely in any position so that the workpiece can be machined.
The tried-and-tested KOSTYRKA® clamping rings are highly efficient and extremely compact clamping elements. In mechanical engineering, they are used, among other things, for clamping rotary and swivel tables as well as milling heads.
The image shows a special solution for a viewing tube (periscope) from Zeiss.
Once the viewing tube has been extended, it is clamped in the desired position.
A hydraulic bearing is also integrated into this clamp so that the periscope can be rotated by motor while clamped. The picture shows the clamp on the test bench at Zeiss.
KOSTYRKA® clamping technology ensures stabilized optics in periscope clamps such as those used in submarines.
The available installation space is only 12 mm high. This rules out the familiar and proven solutions involving radial clamping.
The solution is axial clamping in the form of a ring.
The ring has a corresponding profile on its inner side.
This can be moved by applying pressure, like a diaphragm, to achieve a clamping effect.
A special bronze is used for this purpose. This type of clamping is usually always carried out with two symmetrically mounted clamping rings (the image shows only one side).
As with most Kostyrka solutions, this is also a customer-specific design.
The clamping diameter is 800 mm, and the holding torque is 320,000 Nm at 160 bar.
The clamping device itself weighs approx. 570 kg.
The image shows the mounting of the actual clamping sleeve on the inner housing.
The picture shows a ready-to-install spindle clamp.
This means that the clamping sleeve is supplied with a housing manufactured according to customer specifications.
This spindle clamp is made of hardened steel and therefore allows a better fit between the clamp and spindle.
This is important to prevent contact between spindle and clamping at high speeds.
Contact would lead to adhesive wear (galling) of the parts.
Clampings are always designed to customer specifications. A major advantage is the simple integration by the customer. The clamping is supplied fully assembled and tested on request.
We will be happy to provide you with a non-binding offer!
Enclosed you can see a special solution from our company: Cartridge supports
These products are primarily used to eliminate vibrations that occur during the mechanical processing of components.
For this purpose, the support bolt is placed against the workpiece contour, is clamped in this position and thus prevents the component from vibrating during machining.
The cartridge shape allows users to use these elements in their own fixtures.
In addition to standard types, special functions and designs such as hydraulic positioning of the support pins, longer strokes, additional sensors, intermediate positions and different fastenings can also be implemented.
The drilling and milling centers of Union Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH require the control of high forces with short cycle times. The machining table is held securely cycle by cycle by KOSTYRKA® clamping disks.
With KOSTYRKA® clamping cassettes, it is possible to mount a complete clamping system. The force-transmitting clamping strips or ring pistons are already integrated in the cassettes.
Retrofitting older machine tools to modern, effective clamping elements is made considerably easier with ready-to-install KOSTYRKA clamps.
As the design of these clamps is always based on customer-specific requirements, individual and smart solutions can be found here. Our development department will be happy to advise you!
All Kostyrka sleeves, clamps and other clamping elements can also be operated with water instead of hydraulic oil.
The design of the sleeves/clamps is identical to those that are operated hydraulically.
This is of particular interest for the use of Kostyrka clamping elements in food and medical technology, but also in all areas where hydraulics are not used.
The picture shows a clamp that can also be operated with water.
As a specialist for highly flexible solutions in hydraulic clamping and tensioning technology, we develop and manufacture customized solutions for a wide range of requirements.
The diagram shows examples of where KOSTYRKA products can be used. Whether as spindle, quill or tailstock clamping, for holding pallets or tables, the applications are many and varied.
Enclosed you can see a device with 2 centrically clamping mandrels.
The workpiece to be machined is picked up, centered and clamped during machining using these mandrels.
Device for processing a mirror blank for the European Extremely Large Telescope.
The mirror blank is aligned on this device and then ground to its convex aspherical shape with a thickness of only 100 mm and a mass of 3 tons during the approx. 1-year processing.
Kostyrka offers customized sizes from 6mm to over 2m diameter.
Kostyrka manufactures sleeves from a diameter of 6mm up to sleeves with a clamping diameter of more than 2m (example: use in peeling machines).
The shortest sleeve to date has a length of approx. 20mm, the longest sleeve measures 900mm.
Kostyrka's ability to manufacture sleeves in a wide range of sizes enables you to find the perfect solution for your individual requirements.
Accumulators in hydraulic systems: Reliability and safety despite power failure.
Accumulators are an important component of hydraulic systems and play a crucial role in maintaining the working pressure, even if the primary energy fails. The core of an accumulator is a gas pressure spring element that generates the hydraulic pressure through potential energy.
The advantage of an accumulator is that it ensures a constant holding force or holding torque in the KOSTYRKA clamping elements.
Various types of pressure generators can be used to discharge the accumulator. The KOSTYRKA oil-oil pressure generators or air-oil pressure generators can be used.
